What is a same-day CEREC® crown?

A CEREC® crown is a permanent ceramic crown designed and milled in our office during a single appointment. Using a 3D optical scan of your tooth and CAD/CAM software, Dr. Porche designs the crown digitally and our in-office mill carves it from a ceramic block. The whole process takes about two hours — you leave with a permanent crown the same day, with no temporary, no second visit, and no lab wait time.

How long does a dental crown last?

With proper care, a dental crown typically lasts 10 to 15 years, and many last longer. Longevity depends on the material, how well you care for it, your bite habits, and whether you grind your teeth. Is getting a crown painful?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel anything while the tooth is being prepared. Can a crown fall off?
